Museum Dad is Mark Hodges, a father of 3 who lives in Oak Park, Illinois. When Mark's oldest turned 1, Mark started getting Thursdays off of work and the two headed each week to the Brookfield Zoo. Routines have shifted with more kids, more museums, and now needing to work around days in school, but Mark and the children (and sometimes mom!) still make weekly trips to Chicago area museums.
Mark created MuseumDad.com to share advice and wisdom gained over hundreds of trips to Chicago area museums. The goal of this site is to encourage other museum dads and moms to visit the amazing museums we are fortunate enough to have in Chicago, and to help those trips go more smoothly and easily.
MuseumDad.com is not affiliated with any museums, and opinions on this site are those of MuseumDad.com only. Despite the best efforts to keep information up-to-date here, you should always check museum websites, especially to verify prices and hours for any day you plan to visit.
