Middle and high school aged kids can have a great time at Shedd. Although navigating the aquarium can be pretty confusing, it's a good place to give them autonomy, since there's very little that costs extra (just the 4-D theater which may not interest them). Particularly encourage them towards the Wild Reef, animal spotlights, Stingray Touch (open during good weather in the summer), and Amazon Rising.
