Preschoolers - Lincoln Park Zoo

Preschoolers will love the Center for African Apes, with windows that go to the floor (and even a small play area by one exhibit). The loop at the north end of the zoo is also excellent for this age, paying special attention to the Macaque Forest where monkeys may come up close to the windows, the giraffes and zebras in the outside prairie by the entrance to African Journey, and the polar bears, especially if there's on swimming in the pool (near the exit from African Journey). Also check out the underwater viewing at the Seal Pool.

The farm may be a hit for kids this age, but the Children's Zoo is mostly aimed at older kids, though there are still some fun animals to see.

Consider the Lionel Train Adventure ($3 per person), a short couple of loops on a pretend train, that this age is just about perfect for.
